When this is the right size

Kitchen and bathroom strip-outs are the classic use. Units, worktops, tiles, flooring and plasterboard packaging all go in, and there is enough room left for the boxes the new kitchen arrived in. It is also the right size for a house move clear out on a typical three-bed.

It is the best all-rounder in the range: big enough for a real job, small enough to fit on a standard driveway without a permit.

When to pick something else

Do not fill it with rubble. Eight yards of soil or hardcore is well over what can be lifted, so you would be paying for space you are not allowed to use. Heavy inert waste belongs in a 6 yard.

Where it stands. On your own driveway or private land, no permit is needed. On a public road, pavement or verge it needs one from Doncaster Council, which you apply for. We will tell you exactly what to ask for and what it involves. The permits page explains the process and timings.
