When this is the right size
Full house clearances are the obvious one. Furniture, carpets, bedding, boxes and the accumulated contents of a loft take up enormous space for very little weight, and this is the first size where you stop running out of room.
It also suits larger garden projects, shop fit-outs and any job where you are handling bulk rather than density.
When to pick something else
Check the drive first. Ten yards needs real length, and the lorry needs room to swing it off. If access is tight, two 6 yard loads are often more practical than one large skip you cannot get in.
Where it stands. On your own driveway or private land, no permit is needed. On a public road, pavement or verge it needs one from Doncaster Council, which you apply for. We will tell you exactly what to ask for and what it involves. The permits page explains the process and timings.
